The Hibachi Framework

A practical framework built to evolve with your business.

Messy operational problems rarely move in a straight line. The Hibachi Framework gives the work enough structure to move forward while leaving room to learn, adjust, and make better decisions along the way.

The five stages

The stages stay the same. What happens inside them changes with the business, the problem, and the level of support needed.

01
◎

Understand

What problem are we actually trying to solve?

We begin by understanding the organization’s goals, people, processes, systems, data, and constraints. Discovery is deliberate; we gather literal requirements, check assumptions, and define what meaningful improvement looks like.

02
◇

Design

Which approach makes sense for this business?

We evaluate the options and recommend a logical and purposeful solution. What we mean by that: Cost, effort, risk, expected value, adoption, and long-term maintenance all matter. Stakeholders should understand the tradeoffs before implementation begins.

03
▰

Build

How do we turn the decision into working systems and processes?

Strategy becomes working systems and processes. Configurations are made and deliverables are marked complete. Delivery is task-driven and grounded in clear requirements, regular communication, testing, documentation, and the original business objective.

04
↗

Enable

Can the team confidently own what we build?

Enablement happens throughout the engagement. We explain how the solution works, why decisions were made, and what the team needs to manage it successfully. The goal is capability, not unnecessary dependence. We support these efforts through things like documentation and team training sessions.

Improve

What did we learn, and what should we do next?

The work doesn’t end when we push to production, in fact it just begins. By using a phased approach, we’re able to review what is working, identify challenges, and help figure out the next steps. For ongoing clients, this becomes a practical rhythm of review, prioritization, delivery, and continued progress.

A connected approach

Strategy and execution stay connected.
